Thess-HF: The Hellenic Educational Self-care and Support Heart Failure app
The COVID-19 pandemic: an unforeseeable event
Now that we STAY HOME, self-care becomes even more crucial for heart failure patients.
The ThessHF app serves as patients’ personal assistant in their effort! Under the current circumstances, we find it morally and scientifically imperative to offer our app for use by all heart failure patients, the least we can do in their effort.
This initiative takes place under the auspices of the Hellenic Cardiology Society.
Patients can find more information on how to install the app here (app and website in Greek):
The first Greek Android app for patients with heart failure
Self-management of heart failure is a difficult task! That’s why we developed thessHF.
Three steps for the heart
We ask patients to weigh themselves, take their blood pressure and monitor their symptoms daily. Keeping close track of these parameters leads to fewer decompensations.
All recorded parameters are available for patients to review at any time. Physicians can also view them during physical visits.
The questions aim to educate patients on heart failure. Each week a new question pops up!
The thessHF app reminds patients to take their pills and logs their compliance.
Patients can also log their mood, edemas, heartbeat and oxygen saturation.
A custom algorithm warns patients of increasing weight, or alarming blood pressure, heartbeat or dyspnea levels.
The incorporation of gamification features aims to encourage long-term use of the app.
*For the time being, the app is only available for Android smartphones and tablets. In the future, an iOS version will be available.
